HE CHALLENGE

Paraná Seguros called on us to develop a comprehensive service platform that would allow its current and potential clients in the agricultural sector to quote and contract insurance, with a differential focus on anti-hail insurance.
The objective of the project was to streamline the process of quoting and contracting agricultural insurance, intended for current and potential clients of Paraná Seguros.

THE SOLUTION

We build a comprehensive insurance quoting platform, for which we developed a web portal, a quoting engine, and a mobile application, which integrate with each other and with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, all hosted in the Azure cloud.
The solution was designed to give the insured the possibility of quoting and contracting insurance policies for agriculture, mainly against hail, integrating a visualization system to draw the contour of each beat directly on a map, and specify the crops that they want to insure. . The platform was also integrated with a climate prediction tool to generate weather alerts.
The solution was designed so that the user can operate entirely from their cell phone.

THE IMPLEMENTATION

The portal Tero Hail It was developed on ASP.NET MVC 5 technology, and uses an Azure SQL database. The quoting engine associated with the platform was developed on Java technology with the Gradle Framework, and has webservices developed with WCF, using the Entity Framework as a data abstraction layer. The platform also incorporates third-party services, such as the ZonaGeo geolocation service, which provides the user with storm alerts based on their location.
The portal generates and channels traffic of queries, procedures and complaints from the company's policyholders, for which the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM was implemented as a customer management platform, in order to concentrate and efficiently manage these links with the policyholders.

At the technological level, the project stands out for having all the components of the platform (servers, databases, and VPN to make queries to the Paraná insurance core) are deployed on the Azure cloud.

THE RESULTS

This project meant the launch of a new service that was added to the Paraná Seguros portfolio, and that also offers a totally new experience for the end user.: the possibility of quoting and contracting insurance for your crops from a mobile device. For the company, it was also an important milestone to go to market with the first case in the country of an online 100% insurance contracting platform for the agricultural sector.
On the other hand, the company added an important component of innovation, by introducing the first system that provides the user with storm alerts and alarms, in real time, on their mobile device.
