Development of an omnichannel sales strategy through a virtual mirror, “Magic Mirror”

Perfumerías Rouge, in light of its new strategy to enhance customer experience and the need to implement safer and more environmentally friendly processes, called upon ZENTRICX to innovate and enhance the sale of its makeup products in the context of the necessary care during the pandemic.

THE CHALLENGE

The goal was to improve the customer experience through technology at a time when the pandemic prevented customers from trying on makeup directly on their faces. The objective was to find a new way to sell products without compromising safety measures and to achieve a competitive advantage that would differentiate Perfumerías Rouge
from other brands in the same segment.

THE SOLUTION

It was decided to implement an augmented reality application within mirrors and tablets, with the possibility of adding it to other platforms as well.
The solution aimed to allow customers to try on the desired makeup without having to expose their skin and to compare their appearance before and after applying the product.
A digital application called MAGIC MIRROR was developed to achieve this solution.

THE RESULTS

The implementation of this solution accelerated the purchasing process, as customers could try different looks in less time and purchase more products than they had originally planned.
Customer conversion rates increased as they were able to try on makeup that was not available in the store at the time of purchase, allowing them to reserve and buy it later.
Additionally, an eco-friendly product was developed by reducing the use of testers, cotton, and swabs for removing trial makeup.


This new omnichannel strategy—using the platform both physically in stores and virtually connected to e-commerce—resulted in an increase in web traffic (the virtual mirror in the store was also connected to e-commerce) and allowed Rouge to gain
commercially valuable insights generated by the different product trials customers conducted using the Magic Mirror solution.
