THE CHALLENGE

Paraná Seguros reached out to us to develop a comprehensive service platform that would enable their current and potential clients in the agricultural sector to quote and purchase insurance, with a special emphasis on hail insurance. The objective of the
project was to streamline the insurance quoting and purchasing process for Paraná Seguros’ current and potential clients.

THE SOLUTION

We built a comprehensive insurance quoting platform, which involved developing a web portal, a quoting engine, and a mobile application, all of which are integrated with each other and with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, hosted in the Azure cloud.

The solution was designed to give the insured the ability to quote and purchase agricultural insurance policies, primarily hail insurance. It also included a system for visualizing and mapping out the contour of each plot directly on a map and specifying the crops to be insured. Additionally, the platform was integrated with a weather
prediction tool to generate meteorological alerts. The solution was designed so that users can operate entirely from their mobile phone.

THE IMPLEMENTATION

The Tero Granizo portal was developed using ASP.NET MVC 5 technology and utilizes an Azure SQL database. The quoting engine associated with the platform was developed using Java technology with the Gradle Framework, and includes web services developed with WCF, using Entity Framework as the data abstraction layer.
The platform also incorporates third-party services, such as the ZonaGeo geolocation service, which provides the user with storm alerts based on their location.
The portal generates and channels a flow of inquiries, transactions, and claims from the company’s insured clients, for which Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM was implemented as a client management platform to efficiently manage these connections with the
insured.


Technologically, the project stands out for having all the platform’s components (servers, databases, and VPN for querying Paraná’s insurance core) deployed on the Azure cloud.

THE RESULTS

This project marked the launch of a new service that was added to Paraná Seguros’ portfolio and introduced a completely new experience for the end user: the ability to quote and purchase crop insurance from a mobile device. For the company, it was also
an important milestone, launching the first fully online insurance contracting platform for the agricultural sector in the country.
Additionally, the company introduced a significant innovation by launching the first system that provides users with real-time storm alerts and warnings on their mobile devices.
